How do I calculate VAT on imported products for my e-commerce business?

VAT is calculated as follows:
1. Determine the total value of the goods (e.g., €100).
2. Add the shipping costs and insurance (e.g., €10).
3. The total value is then €110.
4. Calculate 21% of this value: 21% of €110 = €23.10.

So, you pay €23.10 in VAT, if there is no possibility to defer VAT.

How do I know how much import duties I need to pay for specific products that I import for my customers?

Import duties can be determined as follows:

1. Look up the HS code (Harmonized System code) of your product on the customs website or through a customs broker.

2. Consult the customs tariff database for the exact import duty based on the HS code and the country of origin.
